‘The Secret of Southsun’ coming to ‘Guild Wars 2’ next week

With multi-month long “Flame and Frost” living story concluding, the citizens of Tyria can expect a new event in the month of May. Today, a brief preview page of the upcoming event was released with information and screenshots.

As expected, the final chapter of the “Flame and Frost” story was deployed today in “Guild Wars 2.” Players will be given a chance to take the battle to the Molten Alliance with Rox and Braham by their sides to save Tyria.

Custom PvP arenas, spectator mode coming to ‘Guild Wars 2’

With the ‘Flame and Frost’ story arc ending this month, “Guild Wars 2” gamers can look forward to a large update later this month. Today, developer ArenaNet revealed a big PvP feature coming alongside the ‘Flame and Frost’ update.

Custom PvP maps and spectator mode will be added for beta testing with the final ‘Flame and Frost’ update.

Top 5 features lost when ‘City of Heroes’ shut down

Players are still wounded by the closure of “City of Heroes,” and even though it’s a good idea to move on, there is no harm in looking back at the features missed most from its departure. There are a lot of things to miss about the game; however, these are five things I miss the most.

Since the turn of the New Year, players in Tyria have been helping refugees across the game world. Today, the third part of the “Flame and Frost” living story started. A hefty patch accompanied the continuing plot alongside a number of game changes.

Against my better judgement, I’m playing this again. I still think ANet is a piece of shit, but what company isn’t?

I’m laurel collecting and planning on tackling Orr. I’m super casual like a fox.

Guild missions can be unlocked through a guild technology tree. These missions promote cooperation through PvE content designed for several people.

‘City of Heroes’ shutting down today

Today, at 11:59 p.m. PST, “City of Heroes” servers will be shutting down permanently. The closure was announced in the end of August and was met with plenty of concern. Players desperately tried to save “City of Heroes,” but as of today, the game will sunset without a new team picking it up.

Near gear tier, upgrades coming to Guild Wars 2

With the next Guild Wars 2 content update, a new rarity of gear will be added to the game. This rarity, called Ascended rarity, falls between the Exotic and Legendary rarity adding another step to the gear ladder. Ascended gear is better than Exotic gear in every way.

Side Note: I don’t play Guild Wars 2 anymore. Just like with most MMOs, I never cared about the gear’s stats. Will this new gear rarity honestly affect you in any way?

New Guild Wars 2 trailer for ‘The Lost Shores’ released, free trial this weekend

Today, ArenaNet released a trailer for Guild Wars 2’s one-time event The Lost Shores. The event’s website has been updated with the video, the event schedule, highlights, and much more. ArenaNet also detailed the free trial to coincide with The Lost Shores just minutes ago on the official forums.
