Final Throne of Thunder LFR wing available now in ‘World of Warcraft’

Although easy to access, the looking for raid system (LFR) in “World of Warcraft” is gated by a number of factors. An item level is required to access each raid and even though the Throne of Thunder raid released with patch 5.2, all the wings were opened individually over the past several weeks. Today, the fourth and final wing of the Throne of Thunder opened up to LFR players.

unless your shit is normalized, it’s never a good idea to sell weapons

stormcloak:

So, I’ve been playing the original Guild Wars for nostalgia purposes while I wait on SWTOR 1.3, and so I can brush up on the storyline before GW2. Just now, I re-stumbled onto this armor set — the early-game Charr Hide armor. I remember, back in the day, I used to get so excited about this armor, because it looks pretty awesome and made me feel like YEAH BAD ASS CHARR SLAYER YEAH.

Only, when GW1 first came out, it was before they established Charr as a people. Back then, I just thought they were generic feral psuedo-animals, because that’s how the game portrays them except in a few cases. Nbd. Now that I’ve played GW2 and seen that Charr are a sentient people with their own culture and society and history, this armor suddenly becomes… very disturbing. You’re going around wearing the skin of what used to be a person, however bestial — and then attacking other Charr while wearing their dead brother. Jesus christ.

Amazing how perspective can change one’s view of things. Basically GW1 has a very human-skewed portrayal of Charr that’s not accurate at all. That’s some damn good storytelling, even if I’m not sure it was intentional. Thankfully this armor will be hidden under a costume, or I’d have to headcanon this dude as a rampaging psychopath.

that’s messed up right there

MMO Journal Entry 31

TERA’s combat wasn’t enough to keep us going.  It’s fun, we like playing it, but my god… everything else is just so traditional (questing, “endgame,” etc.).  Perhaps a few a months away will do us some good.

I’ve been pretty hard into Dragon’s Dogma.  It’s not an MMO; it’s not even a multiplayer game, but it’s been very entertaining.  The UR-Dragon fight is sort of co-op, though.  That’s interesting.  I like helping and being helped without actually having to see/deal with other people.

After seeing the short list of previewed changes for Guild Wars 2, I’m finally excited about the beta again.  Mainly… modifiers for key bindings!  I’m a little disappointed about tiered skills, but I’m more disappointed about tiered traits.  However, only the skills are listed in that blog so I don’t know.  Tiered skills sucks, but I’m not mad about it.  Tiered traits sucks and it upsets me quite a bit.  Either way, tiering that stuff doesn’t give me a sense of progression; it gives me a sense of being cockblocked from the things I want to use.

/sigh  XD

Dragon’s Dogma… must new game plus…

Apocalyptic Gransys isn’t as fun as normal Gransys.  It’s harder, which I like, but it’s just ugly and depressing!

Although PayPal wasn’t an option and I refuse to let EA/BioWare have my credit card, I’m playing SW:TOR.  It took some effort, though.  Alongside a game card and a physical copy of the game, I’m playing.

It’s what I expected after playing the beta.  There’s nothing world-changing about it, but it’s something to play.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the game.  I’m just not falling over myself with excitement about it.  SW:TOR is very middle-of-the-road for me.  It’s neither great nor horrible and that’s fine.

I do like being able to duo flashpoints, though.  Anyone that tells you that a companion can’t be viable in a flashpoint is either lying or sucks at using their companion.  I suppose that’s nice.

need more on the dash!  does anyone know any good mmo or gaming tumblrs to follow?
